Frequently Asked Questions About Therapy

The answer to this varies widely! Ultimately, it depends on the amount of time it takes to properly and lovingly honor your life story, in addition to your specific goals. One of the first things I will ask you in therapy is how we will know when our work together is done.
Trauma and relational therapy can sometimes bring up pieces of us that have not been safe to acknowledge before, in which case our therapy would focus on slowly witnessing, tending to, and transforming this pain over time.
Duration of therapy also depends on the treatment goals that we collaborate on together.
Many clients experience initial relief following just a few sessions, and many remain in therapy longer-term as their goals evolve over time.
One of my great joys as a therapist is when a client verbalizes that they are ready to go the course without me! Once our time together ends, my door is still open to you in the future.

The short answer? It may not be. In addition to the information contained here on my website, I offer complimentary 15-minute consultation calls for us to get to know one another, and to see if your unique needs align with my areas of specialization. It’s important to me that you find an excellent fit, and if that’s not me, I am happy to help connect you with referrals.

Under the No Surprises Act law, you have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate.” This law ensures that cash-pay clients know how much their therapy will cost. You have the right to ask me for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an appointment, and to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
